Samsung has added some bling to its camera range with Swarovski crystal-encrusted versions of the NX11 and the ST30, but don't get too excited, as these little beauties aren't for sale.

The one-off pimped up cameras were on show at camera retailer Jessops' Christmas in July showcase at the Swarovski store in London and unfortunately they won't be made available for sale (try to contain your disappointment), but were being offered as a competition prize for attendees.

The compact ST30 is a super-compact 10.1-megapixel snapper while the NX11 is the follow-up for the popular NX10 hybrid model.

Jessops was also showing a few exclusive models that will be in store in time for Christmas, including the Panasonic GF3 twin lens kit in red, the Fujifilm Finepix XP20 in blue or black (which is the XP30, without the GPS function) and the Olympus VR-320 in black - although these were all locked in a glass cabinet so we weren't able to get our mitts on them.

The Girls Aloud singer debuted the microphone on the Paul O'grady show on the 29th October while she was performing her new single Insatiable.

About a year after Paul had his chrome Zabalas done, he happened to sit next to a girl who worked at Swarovski. They got chatting and he asked her whether the crystals could be put on a gun. She put him in touch with Jonathan Bullas at Crystalroc, based in London, the recommended applicator in Europe for Swarovski crystals.

"We used 2,820 crystals on each gun, which equates to 48 man-hours," says Jonathan. "The glue was specially made to withstand heat of up to 250°C, so they won't come off even if the barrels heat up."

Now, I will be completely honest here. I am a stickler for etiquette and tradition on the shooting field and was not prepared to find these guns at all attractive but, to my surprise, I found myself admiring the workmanship. The gold ones truly are a one-off - quite extraordinarily flash and incredibly tactile. Because the crystals are not all over the barrels but just along the rib, on the trigger guard and the sideplates, it's actually quite an attractive, dainty design. It's not everyone's taste but if you want to cause a stir, dipping your shotguns in molten gold is the way to do it.

Paul has a friend who took one look at his chrome-barrelled guns at a charity day a couple of years ago and wanted to order a pair for himself. He also loved the idea of incorporating Swarovski crystals along the rib and has commissioned a pair for next season. He wishes to remain anonymous but tells me: "It's so amusing and a completely alternative way of looking at it. It's at the opposite end of the scale to all the heavily engraved old English guns. I am going to commission a black crocodile skin case for them, with a black velvet interior, incorporating a silver cigar box." A friend of theirs has also ordered a pair, complete with crystals, and the plan is to re-model a violin case specially for them.

These sparkling violin is one of several created by Swarovski for Linzi and her musical partner Ben Lee, who make up the heavy-metal inspired violin act FUSE.

Each bespoke Bridge electric violin is encrusted with 50,000 Swarovski crystals and has a £1million price tag.

They were unveiled yesterday at Harrods in Central London, where they will stay on display until June 2

The worlds first Fully crystallized flute

CrystalRoc were honoured when Professional flutist Abigail Burrows contact them and asked to produce a fully crystallised flute for her. The Pearl flute was already solid silver but CrystalRoc added over 8,000 individual Swarovski crystals to produce not only a visual masterpiece but a playable instrument.

CrystalRoc had the delight of working with the 2009 Brit Award winners Girls Aloud.

CrystalRoc produced crystallized microphones for each Girls Aloud member encrusted in pink and peach Swarovski crystals.

"We revealed the mics to the girls before the final dress rehearsal in Sheffield," explains monitor engineer Nick Maddren. "I gathered the girls just before they started and pulled back the cover. There was a mix of screams, hands covering mouths and loads of excitement. The standard mics were immediately returned and the new ones disappeared like it was like Christmas day. CrystalRoc did an amazing job and the mics looked amazing."
